Dear Joshua,
Have you eaten any pancakes yet? I’m becoming quite cord en bleu at making them, although my house now smells distinctively of lemon.
As for other news, I have a new job!
Yes, you can now buy and trade merchandise and souvenirs from La Merchant del Venezia. Anything you want to get or get rid of, cash, credit card, pin card or even a pound of flesh! (excuse my feeble Shakespearian pun!). Do come and see what goods we have on offer! Although naturally it would be hard for you to come, being in Bosnia and all that.
Also, my young rogue of cousin, Don Cugavanni, who is staying with me, has started learning the guitar from the book, Bert Weedon or somebody. He is quite talented but can only play Beatles songs so far!
Unfortunately, with good news comes the bad. As you know, the recent flood in Venice has caused great problems in the houses (try frying an egg with no electricity) and damaged a lot of property. (Naturally, the traffic is as perfect has ever). Don Cugavanni said it was like living in a yellow submarine, but the thing which really made me feel blue was that in my humble casa I could not help noticing not noticing some objects. Now, I had been noticing some peculiar behavior in that scum of lad, Ed Lizzardi. However, when, last week, I happened to suggest this theory to Don Cugavanni he became quite emphatic and stormed up to Ed, demanding the objects back. He is a good natured lad and takes justice very seriously, perhaps too seriously.
Whether or not he actually had the objects I still do not know, but apparently Ed Lizzardi had contacts with the Maufia, and thus various bricks with messages have been thrown through my window.
The windows have been replaced but I’m getting worried…
Finally, could I ask you for some advice?
I worried about Don Cugavanni, he seems to have something on his mind at the moment but I’m not sure what, any ideas?
I have suggested for him to write to you and he said he would like to do that.
Yours thoughtfully,
Donna Dorothia Dolli
